Four years later and we finally have a new full-length Childish Gambino album. There are 12 songs on this album, and to go into depth of all the songs would take a lot of time. (Hahaha time because one of the themes of this album is time.) Anyways, what I will say about the album as a whole is that it is an experimental funky sound that from beginning to end has me viben mentally floating on the clouds.

One song I want to write about is the last track on the album 53.49. The beginning instrumentals don’t sound different from the rest of the songs on this album. The sound is definitely experimental. All the different sounds layer together, and then Childish Gambino’s rap smoothly coming on makes me instantly like this track. The intense rapping throughout the versus show case the passion behind the lyrics Childish Gambino is singing about. The important lyrics ranging from life and death, Jesus and the church, family and music, capital vices and self-love. Each of these topics can be depicted in depth, but for time sake I will not do that here. The chorus of this song is were Childish Gambino showcases his vocals. The words to spread love by the power of singing the chorus. This song of course has an outro. The instrumentals and the reflection of the gospel feel to this song with the choir like vocals ends this album nicely.
